Crane tJRS Joint Test Bench
Fully Automated Joint Test Bench
The tJRS (threaded joint rate simulator) is the only fully automated joint test bench that utilises a threaded fastener system. This means that joint conditions can be set up in the same way as in real fastener applications and the joint can be automatically ‘backed off’ after each test.
As a result, assembly tools can be tested offline, under the most realistic conditions of any automated joint simulator bench, in a quick and efficient manner.
Traditionally, automated joint test benches have used friction brake systems instead of threaded fasteners to address two main challenges: the need to reverse or back-off after each rundown and the cumbersome process of reconfiguring joint characteristics.
Crane’s tJRS eliminates these issues. While friction brakes can easily be reset, addressing the back-off issue, they introduce many other problems. Most notably, they often result in joint simulators with different properties to the actual joints the tools are intended for. In contrast, Crane’s tJRS joint test bench sets the standard for accurate and precise torque management.
